When working on complex projects, you may find yourself with a little more than one or two windows on your screen and it can get uncomfortable if you have to resize and move them around constantly. WinPosition aims to make everything smoother, by allowing you to move windows to preset positions instantly, through simple hotkeys. Even if you have a large number of windows on your screen, you will be able to manage everything easily and comfortably.

WinPosition is distributed as a freeware application, for all modern Windows platforms. It takes only a few seconds to download and install the application and there is no need to install any prerequisite tools or services. Also, you won't notice any significant impact on your computer's performance while it's running.

The software can place active windows in the central region of the screen, on the upper, lower, left or right halfs or in the screen's corners. Each position corresponds with a key on the numb pad, so the hotkey is a combination of CTRL, ALT and a numb key, according to where you want to place the window you currently have active.

For certain positions, you can hit the hotkey multiple times, to set your window to different sizes. What's more, the application lets you set up custom positions for each keyboard combination. This can be done on a clean and simple configurations panel, which can be brought up on the screen through a system tray icon.

To set up a new window position, you have to specify a series of percentages, for left and top alignments and for the window's width and height on a small window. Alternatively, you can just click and drag a window in a preview area, in the lower half of the interface, after which you can edit the new entry if you want to fine tune the position and size.

All entries can be saved as a layout, so you don't have to define them more than once. It is also possible to export and import layouts, so you can have your favorite presets available at all times, even if you have to reinstall the application or work on a different system.

Regardless of how many windows you have on your screen, you can arrange them in a comfortable manner at a moment's notice with WinPosition.

Pros

The application lets you place windows in specific locations on your screen through simple hotkeys. You can define your own presets, without any difficulties. Presets can be imported and exported.

Cons

There are no serious issues to address.
